Niederrad, Frankfurt, Germany
This CHP plant commissioned in 2005 is based on one natural gas fired gas turbine, one single-pressure heat recovery steam generator (HRSG) with supplementary firing, and one condensing steam turbine consisting of a high pressure part and a low pressure part. Via an SSS Clutch, it is possible to shut down the low pressure part separately and to increase the amount of district heating generation.
The electrical power of 76 MW is fed into the public power grid. The thermal power of 91 MW is used in the district heating of the city and the airport of Frankfurt am Main.
